NYCkayaker Manhattan Circ Weekend Update

Hi:

  Steve and I got worried yesterday morning when the number of participants for 8/12 Manh. Circ hit 48.!!!!!!!!

  So we decided to do a Circ on Saturday and a Circ on Sunday.

  Steve Blumling will paddle on Saturday August 12 while I will travel to each stop off in my car to provide ground support. This will include two bikes on my car. If somone gets tired of paddling, he or she can borrow my bike for a stretch while I car top their kayak to the next stop 

  I will go around Manhattan on Sunday August 13 in my kayak.

  I have spoken to some folks about switching to Sunday to keep me company. After all the weather for both days will be perfect !!!!

  As a result my Saturday list is down to 33.

  And the Sunday group is now 12

  Four of the folks from Florida have switched to Sunday. And the Sunday group also includes one gentleman doing the Manhattan Circ two days in a row. He would probably also do one on Monday except that he has to go back to work !!!!

  There are a few  other Harbor events occurring on Saturday like the Dragon Boat race, Harrison Street Regatta, and the Dredgers Trip to Governors Island. If any of the folks who were busy on Saturday would like to join the Sunday August 13 Manh Circ let me know ASAP. Same goes for folks who considered Saturday but who were scared off by the
  high numbers. The Sunday group has room for three or four more paddlers

  Meanwhile, if anyone who has not checked in with Steve or myself is planning on doing a Manh Circ on Saturday August 12, please do not land at Hallet's Cove between 10:30AM and 12:45 PM. An overcrowded beach is neither safe nor fun
