anyone out there with an opinion on the CD Solstice GT or any variation
of it?...many thanks...sam d

Sam,

I have paddled a CD Solstice GT for the last ten years. Love the boat!!
Tracks well at the cost of turning ease. I have a rudder but seldom
deploy it. It's stable in touchy conditions and has lots of storage.
The cockpit is big, but not too big (I think newer models are slightly
smaller). They now have flush hatches both fore and aft which is great.
Best of all, I love the way it looks. Nice lines. Also the seat is
great. After a 10 or 11 hour 'round Manhattan swim race escort, you
really appreciate a good seat.

Now despite all i've just said, when it comes time to replace it, I may
consider the Solstice GTS. Two inches narrower should make it just a
bit more responsive. Still, I'm undecided and I'm hoping to get a few
more years out of the current boat.

I'd be glad to answer any specific questions you may have.

PS My wife paddles a Solstice ST. Loves it.
