Thanks for this service, Richard. As for the trail, Kim seems to have
also left photos and other items as a bread crumb trail to return by, or
for rescue teams to follow. While the state issued map showed the road
as being closed in snowstorms, the commercial one didn't. Keep that in
mind when using nautical charts marked, "not for navigation." Some
critical information gaps might be silent dangers.

On the flip side, regarding recreational kayaking in cold weather and
the never-ending debates over regulations, here's an interesting article
