NYCkayaker Death of Jeff Hoyer

This is such a loss.

Jeff had remarkable warmth and was always ready word of support,
delivered with self-effacing humor. When we had events -- swims,
memorials, fundraisers -- that required his skills and positive energy,
he seemed to simply appear with a smile.

I'm grateful for the times we had with Jeff and hope we can honor his
memory together.

> Although an autopsy has yet to be completed, cerebral hemorrhage

> We all enjoyed Jeff’s thoughtful contributions to this list – I
> especially enjoyed the Maine trip report he posted here last summer.
> His lucid writing made palpable the joy he experienced being in a kayak
> on the water with friends or in solitude. His conversation was
> thoughtful and lively, too. He stayed well informed and he enjoyed
> discussing gear, paddling, music, business, and politics. We last
> paddled together providing support for the 9/11 WTC Memorial Floating
> Lantern Ceremony. Jeff was a fun, cultured, and authentic presence in
> our local paddling community. He will be missed.
