Naturally, a whole book could be written about the creek, and I bet that
one day the Greater Astoria Historical Society will do just that. Before
that time, I hope this overview is useful for residents, students, and
harbor mavens alike. 

My thanks to Carter Craft and Emily Gertz for not only commissioning the
piece, but for contributing to it substantially as editors. As always,
so much material couldn't be fit into a single article. That information
will likely pop up in the universe to good effect later.  :)
