Gerald,
I paddled for about 8 days in Pelorus Sound, Milford Sound, and Doubtful
Sound a few years ago. Doubtful is just about the most beautiful place I've
ever seen. You should also spend at least a day in Milford since you'll be
in Te Anau anyway.
I did not go to Tasman because I heard from many people that it is crowded
and much less beautiful, lacking the cliffs and waterfalls of Fiordland.
The outfitter I used in Fiordland was Fiordland Wilderness Experiences, and
they were excellent. For Pelorus Sound I used a now defunct outfitter.
Have a great time!
Dan
