Hey All,
A few of us are going out to Coney Island on New Years to dip with the
Polar Bears.
We usually do some bathing suit only rolls and paddling when the people
all jump in, then go for a paddle with Drysuits out to Breezy points.
A couple of people are driving from the city and Brooklyn, if anyone needs
a ride let me know, and I'll try and hook people up.
If you are coming on your own, please try and be at the beach by 12:00.
The Bears are scheduled to dip at 13:00, but they usually run a little
late. The event is a charity fundraiser, please register when you get
there and make a contribution. They always serve a nice breakfast.
YOu can just drive right up the Beach. Go to the Nathans in Coney island,
then take the Street next to Nathans to the Beach, sorry I don't remember
the name, and drop off your boats. You should see the tents and people,
that is the only thing going on. In past years we have just been able to
park there, meters are not enforced, and while there are hundreds of
people, its a lot mellower than the summer, when boats aren't allowed.
