NYCkayaker Nonswimmers and PFDs

That's probably why the divide is so great between sea kayakers and
racer/athletes. I think most should wear pfd's since they don't practice
swimming, or running or anything cardio, however rather than giving all
the reasons they give, they should say I smoke , I drink too much, I
overeat I haven't swam a half mile non stops in 25 years if ever. I
don't run 25 miles a week, I should wear a pfd all the time. But they
would rather keep the illusion in their own minds that they are good
swimmers, In good cardio shape and come up with a tribe rule. I have
never seen a group that spends so much time on the water but is so
scared of it. Water is nice.
