NYCkayaker Alternate date for fireworks?

The forecast is for thunderstorms Sunday afternoon/evening. From what I saw  
in the paper, rain will postpone the concert until Monday evening the 
3rd.....so  if it's looking like thunder around 7PM, I'll be paddling Monday  
evening..........
 
 
 
Sunday evening July 2 at 8PM, West Point will be having a concert  with  
FIREWORKS at Trophy Point Amphitheater. From past experiences,  the cannons 
and  
fireworks are spectacular.

Some may want to  watch/listen from the comfort of their kayaks.

Suggestion: Put a white  light on the stern of your kayak and launch from  
Foundry Dock Park in  Cold Spring about 7:30PM...paddle south to calm area  
opposite Trophy  Point....await festivities!

Maybe this would be a good time to ignite  last year's flares...then go to  
your favorite outfitter to get new  ones?

This is not an organized event...just a rumor that I heard...all  paddlers  
are on their own 'cause Hey, it'll be dark!
