Hi All,

I would deeply appreciate your help in gathering a crowd for a fun
event and worthy project: a WATER in SPACE lecture by world renowned
astrobiologist David Grinspoon at the Home for Water. The 501c3
nonprofit Home for Water is the first step in creating a New York
Museum of Water. It's founder, Asher Shomrone, is working push water to
the center or cultural and political priorities because lives will
depend on it in the next few generations. As you know, billions of
people struggle for adequate water and millions die because they lack
clean, reliable supplies.

David Grinspoon is a really fun person and lecturer (check his
funkyscience.net website to get a feel for his character) and he's
donating his time to this (and the boathouse took him on a free
circumnavigation tour) -- so all of the funds raised will go toward
water awareness programs. Through the LIC Community Boathouse, we can
make a group purchase for tickets at $10, but we'll need a minimum of
20. Reply to this address and we'll register you. Pay in cash at the
door.

It is our pleasure to invite you to attend a lecture this coming
Tuesday at the New York Museum of Water's Home for Water given by
astrobiologist and award-winning author David Grinspoon:

WATER IN SPACE
July 18, 630PM
Home for Water • 525 W. 23rd Street • New York, NY 10011 • 212.929.2828

Is Earth the unique "water world" of our solar system or are there
hidden seas, even living oceans, awaiting our discovery on nearby
planets and moons? What can we learn from the Orion Nebula, where
enough water is produced each day to fill Earth's oceans 60-times over,
about our own origins in a cosmic cloud? What happened to Venus and
Mars, which seem to have once been oceanic globes? Might comets and
water-laden meteors spread life from planet to planet? What is yet to
be uncovered about the role of water in the universe?

Astrobiologist David Grinspoon has dedicated his life to exploring
these and other profound questions. The Home for Water, headquarters
for the coming New York Museum of Water, is proud to invite you to
share an evening with this creative explorer. Dr. Grinspoon plays a
leading role in the Venus Express mission of the European Space Agency,
and a coming
NASA rover mission to Mars. He is also the Carl Sagan Medal-winning
author of "Venus Revealed" and "Lonely Planets: A Natural Philosophy of
Alien Life."
