NYCkayaker Riot Nitro 58

I know that the Round-Manhattan circumnavigation has been in a whitewater
boat but I am not certain one as short as the Riot Nitro 58. If you wanted
to do it in one, you would be wise to attach a temporary skeg. I know some
WW manufacturers do offer skegs that attach in a form of a cone to the stern
of their boats. You can also make one modelled on the one that Feathercraft
has had (do not know if it still does). It attaches with straps that go
around the rear deck toward the stern and are further secured by a webbing
strap and hook that can attach to the rear of the coaming to prevent the
thing from slipping off the back. You can even make one.

What won't work is simply duct taping a skeg like device to the stern; these
are highly unlikely to remain through such a long trip.
