NYCkayaker Manatee in Manhattan?

Ha! That's great! One of the LIC Community Boathouse's boats is named 
the CHESSIE for a manatee that swam up the East River on his trek from 
Florida to Rhode Island in 1995. In 1996 he ventured as far as 
Maryland, and then settled back into a life of doubtlessly droning on 
about his youthful adventures to any juvenile manatee who'll listen!

:)

Let's see if we can organize a search party!
