NYCkayaker Concrete Canoeists Need Coach

Calling all speedy canoeists!

Six CUNY undergraduate engineering students are building a concrete 
canoe for the annual race:

The LIC Community Boathouse is happy to host their practices with our 
canoes on Anable Basin in Hunters Point. But most of us are kayakers, 
and relaxed-paced ones at that. Our canoe skills are sufficient for 
safety, but not refinement and speed. Are there any racing canoeists on 
the list, or at least people dedicated more deeply to that craft?
