There is a canoe rental place upstream on the  spark kill creek  .  this
happens quite a bit, they come out of the sheltered creek and marsh ,
and get introduced to the Hudson river

PIERMONT - Firefighters this afternoon pulled two people from the Hudson
River after their boat overturned.

The boaters were not seriously injured as paramedics awaited for them on
the Piermont Pier at 2:15 p.m.

The fire department's marine unit was towing a 16-foot canoe to the
pier. The boat overturned 100 yards off the pier.
