NYCkayaker pier 63 public launch is closed

the PUBLIC launch / landing at pier 63 is closed indefinitely.

as bonnie mentioned,

just wanted to clarify that Surfside III is a PRIVATE marina, so it will
likely permit emergency landing only.

the closest PUBLIC landing / launch sites are at pier 96 at 56th street and
on the south side of pier 40 at Houston street, both at docks operated by
the downtown boathouse.
launching is permitted at both during their operating hours (see their
website at www.downtownboathouse.org) and landing should be ok in an
emergency at all times, though egress from the dock is more complicated than
it was at the old pier 26 site.
please consult with their organization for more information.
