NYCkayaker 1st Annual Hudson Highlands Greenway Triathlon

On Sunday past I was privileged to help out with the kayaking portion of the 1st Annual Hudson Highlands Greenway Triathlon ( http://www.hhlt.org/triathlon.htm ) There were about 50 competitors that participated. First they had to run a difficult 7.3 mile course. Then came an 8 mile cycling course. This was followed by a 5.2 mile kayak loop- from Dockside in Cold Spring to Bannermans and back. As it turned out many of the participants had never kayaked before. I have a feeling that most of them will be back to enjoy the Hudson Highlands at a more leisurely pace. I'm also happy to report that they all did well and no one got into trouble.
After the kayaking portion, they were still not finished. There was another 6.9 miles of cycling to end the race. 
This event was part of the Hudson River Ramble and benefited the Hudson Highlands Land Trust. As I always do, I was able to take some pictures and post them for the benefit of the participants and others that may be interested.
