It's pretty hard to find something for free in the city, but that
is exactly what the New York Outrigger Canoe Club (NYO) offers: free novice
lessons for the community! Our mission is to educate New Yorkers on the
Polynesian paddling sport, as well as to promote the spirit of aloha by
bringing the community together in enjoying the waterways and creating a
different experience on the water.

As we turn 10, NYO will be holding a benefit to raise money and
create more awareness about our club on Sunday, October 8th, from
7- 10pm. The benefit will be held at Slate Plus, 54 West 21st street
in Chelsea. Tickets are $20 in advance or $30 at the door. Amex,
Visa, MC and cash are all welcome.

FREE billiard time from 7P-10P, Karaoke contest and special wine
prices will be available to everyone who purchases a commemorative NYO Wine
Glass. Come find out more about what outrigger paddling is about or just
have fun playing pool or singing karaoke!
