Not sure if this is your region but I am organizing a cool race in Cold Spring.  Trying to give people a chance to try the racing scene.  It is a fun friendly competition.

 

Please pass the word around.  I would love to have some citizen kayakers not just racers.

Sunday 8/19/07 - Foundry Dock Park, Cold Spring NY - Hudson River

 

Elite Open Class:

K1 - ICF K1  & Open Sea Kayak Class (Kayaks with less than a 20" beam & Wing Paddle)

Surf Ski

OC1

Elite Open Tandems - OC2's, K2's and Double Surf Ski's 

 

Sea Kayak Classes:

Fast Touring - kayak with 20" beam or greater (Wing Paddle) 

Touring - kayak with 20' beam or greater and min 15ft (NO wing paddle) 

Fast Tandems - Tandem sea kayaks (No Wing Paddle)

 

The course: 16 mile loop from Cold Spring to the Bear Mountain Bridge and Back

 

Entry fee: $40 - All participants get a T shirt

 

Prizes: Cool gear from Princeton Tec, Kelty, Watershed Dry Bags, Chums and much more

 

Details: 

9:00am - 10:00am registration check in

10:00am - safety meeting

10:30 am - launch

10:30 am - 2:30/3:00 pm race 

3:30 pm awards and food
