NYCkayaker best kayak available ?

OK to be more specific
   
  16 to 19 foot range
  for the ave paddler
   
  the fictional client wants to move up from the 
  breeze/whisper/Carolina 14.5 class into the
  go faster, I'm no novice anymore class
   
  Romany / gulfstream / etc class
