NYCkayaker pier 66

hi all-
as many of you know, the new boating facility at pier 66 at 26th street on
the hudson river is finally open.
the facility is home to manhattan kayak company, new york outrigger, and NY
Kayak Polo.
we just got our website up:  www.pier66nyc.org
there you can find info on the facility and links to our member
organizations for specifics about their programs.

we operate a NY State Greenway / NYC Watertrail / HRWA public launch so you
can bring your boat and launch from there during our hours of operation,
which are pretty much 7 days a week from mid-day until evening.  you do have
to sign one of our standard liability waivers to use the launch.

we are in the process of building out the boathouse and getting the kayak
and outrigger canoe racks set up.  some storage may be available on the
barge as well in the coming weeks.  for information on storage of kayaks or
outrigger canoes follow the contact links to mkc or nyo.

we look forward to seeing you out there and to bringing some life back to
the chelsea waterfront, nearly year after the barge closed last september.
(and before you ask, it seems the barge / frying pan will not be opening
this season but should be back in time for the spring of 2008--stay tuned
for calls to action about re-establishing that launch in the coming weeks)
