NYCkayaker Tropos or Gortex?

I don't know how they make the neoprene neck seals on the kayak dry suits.
But as far as the ability for the neoprene seal to be waterproof, the
original diving dry suits and current Poseidon dry suits use neoprene neck
closures. Divers used them all the time for long periods underwater.
The warranty on the topos is short, which I assume means the seams and or
zipper are not of the highest quality . The cheaper NRS one has a very good
brass zipper.
I think one of the reasons why Gore-Tex dry suits are so expensive is DuPont
will not allow their name to go onto the product unless the seams meet a
special sewing requirement. This also adds weight to the garment, one of
the reasons why some of the high-end mountain climbing and ultra light
hiking gear is not gore-tex.
