I have no issue with the lawsuit; no one here knows the full details. Maybe
the rescue boat threw beer bottles at the deceased.  Kite surfing is a very
dangerous activity without the cold-water issue. Lines and water do not mix!
If it gets nowhere, the attorney is out the time and work, probably the
money for the paperwork too, I doubt the widow has the money for those
costs. It is not all roses and easy to sue in this country. If you are a
car topping kayaker heading to the outer banks or Florida, it is good to
know that you will be driving through four of the five  remaining
contributory negligence states. This means if you were going 35 in a 30mph
zone and a another car runs a red light or stop sign and causes some severe
and permanent injuries to your  family you may be SOL as far as a tort.
