NYCkayaker Polar Bear Paddle Report

Hey All,

3 of us ended-up going to Coney Island to dip with the Polar Bears on New
Year's Day.

As always it was a lot of fun. Worries of "Horrible Weather" were quickly
dismissed. It was a balmy 50 degrees with rain and fog, but no wind.

There must have been 300 swimmers, and 2 of us rolling our kayaks.
Afterward we had a nice paddle down the beach to Sheapshead Bay in the
lovely springlike rain.

Next year I hope to see more of you out there. We were grossly outnumbered
by the swimmers, some of whom were sober. A few people even went swimming
naked, but in interest of decency Harry and I kept our skirts on.
