There's a 25' sailboat that broke mooring and is now stranded on the rocky shore just south of the Inwood Canoe Club about a mile North of the GW Bridge.
I am help organizing a rescue effort tomorrow (Tuesday) morning at 6:40 AM. Hopefully, a power boat will be there to assist, but if not, the owner has an outboard motor that can be attached to a dinghy.
Mainly what is needed are able bodies to help move the boat off the rocks and possibly someone in a kayak to help with the ropes. If you can make it, contact me ditect at 917-921-0517 and I'll fill you in on details and directions.
It's a sad story with most of what on was onboard already stolen, but hopefully we can help salvage what is left before further damage is done. The time and date have changed a couple of times since yesterday, so definitely call me before showing up to confirm time and date. Let's help out a fellow boater!
