I've paddled around Manhattan. Not sure if I'd like to paddle around and around and around

though.

I'm forwarding this message as it seems like a pretty interesting study

-----
Verdant Power is currently preparing an application to the Federal
Energy Regulatory Commission (as well as other federal/state/local
permits and approvals) for the Roosevelt Island Tidal Energy Project.
The project would consist of up to 300 underwater turbines in the
East River over an area spanning the east channel, from the southern
tip of Roosevelt Island, up through Hell Gate and ending near
Lawrence Point.

Verdant Power is looking for individuals and organizations to
participate in the Recreational Resources study group for the
Roosevelt Island Tidal Energy Project. This is one of several studies
that Verdant will be conducting this winter and spring to evaluate
resources and resource use in the project footprint, as well as
potential effects of turbine installation and operation. The studies
will also be used to design turbine configurations to minimize
impacts on other river uses. Study group participants will be
responsible for implementing the Recreational Resources Study Plan by
participating in conference calls and/or meetings.

Please contact RITE.Project at devinetarbell.com if you are interested
in participating in this study.
