Ed - A dry suit is the ultimate, but costs many sheckles. It keeps you
warmer longer if you take an untimely swim, and is flexible on temperatures,
since you can wear much or little under it. The alternative is a wet suit -
much less costly, but not as comfortable for many people. Check out articles
on dressing for cold water safety at these sites:

What do you guys wear? I'm looking for a breathable insulated suit with
some floatation maybe?

My needs may be slightly different, I row a guideboat in the Stockport
-- Coxsacki area. I'm thinking comfort, survival, out alone on cold
foggy mornings.

If there's a faq sheet on this please direct me.
thanks,
