First of all - I have to apologize for my ignorance of netiquette. Thank you, Rich, for Miss Mailers, which was, exactly as you intended, both very funny and very informative - from here on out I promise that I will cut down my responses so that only whatever bit of the lead-up is needed to make my answer make sense is included. 

By way of sucking up...er, I mean apology, I would like to share a link that I found today while checking out the Bronx River Alliance's website ( http://www.bronxriver.org ) to see if there was any info up yet about the Amazing Bronx River Flotilla 2007. It makes the gas spill even sadder and the 1/23 Times story that starts "The City of Yonkers has agreed to end its four-year opposition to a state plan to clean up the city’s discharge of sewage into the Bronx River" even happier.
