Yep I think it was his pump that saved him! ;-)
Seriously, reminds me of the time when I first started
kayaking on a big lake in North Carolina. At night,
nearly pitch black out, I was within 10 feet of being
run over by a house boat. I have to embarrassingly
admit it was my fault since I was attempting to get
out of his way by paddling as hard and fast as I could
toward the shore, only to later realize the shipping
channel actually hugged the shoreline! Some of us
learn the hard way and survive , others learn the hard
way and well, no more learning takes place on this
side of the line .
