Hello NYC Kayakers!

My name is Bill “KayakGuy” Quick, and I am celebration
my 5000th paddling mile by kayaking from Albany to New
York, and then back to Albany. While in your area, I
am planning to circumnavigate Manhattan, and I am
looking for any interested paddlers to accompany me,
and/or advise me. Also, I am looking for a spot to
slip ashore and sleep near my kayak for a few hours
before beginning the circumnavigation.

I will be launching from Albany on Monday, July 23 and
plan to arrive in Manhattan on Friday evening, July
27th. I will begin the circumnavigation Saturday
morning. According to the recommendations I have
read, 4 hours after low water at the battery is the
time to begin. Low tide Saturday morning is 2am, at
the battery, so I should be on the water at 6am,
depending on where I can find a spot to sleep.

If anyone knows where I could get away with “sleeping”
for a few hours, without leaving my kayak please let
me know.

Anyone interested in coming along?

You can learn more about me and the paddles I have
done by visiting my website at:

Any help, information or other assistance you or your
members could give would be appreciated.
