NYCkayaker Viewing Empire State Games Kayak Races

Hi:
 
Eileen O'Connor just called me from Glen Island, NY where her daughter,  
Maeve, is getting ready for her kayak race.
 
She asked me to post the following information:
 
The kayak races start tomorrow Thurs 7/25 at 9 AM and run all  morning.
On Friday 7/26 the races start at 11:30 and run till 3 PM.
 
There are several viewing vantage points:
1)Glen Island. Walk to the point facing Orchard Beach. Binoculars probably  
needed unless you paddle out to the race course. (It is easy to launch from 
this  spot)
2)Dog Park just west of NY Athletic Club on Pelham Road
3)Orchard Beach: Go to the lagoon by the Canoe/Kayak launch and walk  east
