I too am saddened by the hate and vitriol that has been proudly promulgated by so many kayakers
against the Poker Racers.
Not primarily because the Poker Racers have just as much right to enjoy the water as kayakers or
swimmers. Nor just because their boats are exquisitedly crafted machines of spectacular beauty,
breathtaking performance, marvelous technology and a thrill to watch. And not just because
anyone who were given a choice of owning only one boat--a kayak or an open ocean racer-- if cost
and conveinence were no objects, says they would select the kayak is most likely a liar or an
eccentric.
It's because it's simply sad to see contempt against something that deserves respect. It's sad,
and it's ugly.
That being said, I don't know how "canard" fits into this subject, and I'm not unsubscribing.
