NYCkayaker June 16 Conflict: Clearwater and MIMS

Hi All,

We're going to have to do some coordinating this year to help ensure the
success of both the Clearwater Festival and the Manhattan Island
Marathon Swim. Both are set for June 16.

The good news is that we now have enough boats between the Working
Waterfront volunteer paddling groups (LIC Community Boathouse, Yonkers
Paddling and Rowing Club, Sebago Canoe Club) to be fully stocked even
if we dedicate to a certain number to the swim. But some people will
want to have their own boats for the MIMS, and for Clearwater. 

Our best bet might be to have a vehicle and trailer waiting to sweep
boats and paddlers up to Clearwater before dinner. Ambitious paddlers
might get up at the crack of dawn and hurry down for the swim which is
getting off to a later start than usual. The LIC Community Boathouse
will be bringing up some inner city kids to Clearwater, so that'll be a
bit complicated.

But what a great combination of experiences in a single day! Anyone up
for early coordination?
