Hi All,

September 22 looks good, and could promote Estuary Day the following
week.

How's this, based on physics but not on any approval from anyone at this
point:

7AM: Launch from Sharp Boathouse

8AM: First 15-minute stop is the Friends of Brook Park launch in Mott
Haven. They are a festive bunch, so that'll be a great boost to the
groggy paddlers. FoBB is also doing great work and deserves to have it
highlighted.

9AM: Hallets Cove, Queens. This is a great, roomy beach for landing and
stretching. The arts and commercial communities should be able to kick
in with fun and support to augment the warm welcome you'll get from
residents.

If the diagonal crossing at Hell Gate worries some (it's not much
trouble if you hold fast to Wards Island and dart across toward Hallets
Point), we can instead opt for Hunters Point.

Also count on this Queens stop being about 15 minutes.

11AM: Red Hook, Brooklyn. Okay, now you get 30 minutes to rest and eat.
Ah, the luxury!

1130AM: Final launch. Favorable currents down through the harbor lead to
a sweet kick into the Kill Van Kull.

2PM Arrive at Snug Harbor, Staten Island for a GRAND party!

Snug Harbor Cultural Center has the facilities to host such a big
celebration, green open space for tents, and has a ferry dock for easy
returns.

DONE

I hope this makes sense. The timeline is padded, and we might even push
the launch to a less painfully early hour.

Now I'm eager!

Salty regard,

Erik
