I just had a back-channel response from someone expressing dissappointment, he said he'd thought the meeting was on the 26th - just in case anyone else is confused, here's the same answer I sent him:

no, this is a different one. There are SO many meetings. The one on the 26th is the next community board 1 meeting; tonight's is the Advisory Council to the Hudson River Park Trust, which is a group made up of HRP tenants (John Krevey's on the council now, hurrah!), representatives of various government folks, and people from the community boards whose territories include pieces of the park.
Nancy Brous is actually on the council due to her role in the Hudson River Watertrail Association, so in the end, the kayaker's interests have always had a representative there. I'm not going tonight because I feel like I somehow need to go - more out of curiousity. I don't have a T.V. set so I guess this is my version of "Lost", where I'm scared to miss an episode....

BTW the CB1 meeting on the 26th does sound like one that will be interesting - that's the one where Julie is asking Connie Fishman, President of the Trust, to come speak with CB1, the task force members, and whatever members of the public turn up, about the direction the Trust is taking with Pier 26.
