NYCkayaker Hudson River (Yonkers vicinity) Warning

Did anyone here kayak in the NYC area prior to '86-87 when the the North River and Red Hook
Wastewater Treatment plants came on line and some other NYC treatment plants were upgraded?   The
North River Plant alone handles 125,000,000 gallons of sewage water per day that was previously
dumped raw into the Hudson.     =TomBk
