CHARLESTON, S.C. - The Coast Guard has rescued one missing kayaker in
good condition five-miles east of Fripp Island, S.C., at 11:30 a.m. today.
Jeremy Scott, 28, of Atlanta is one of two kayakers that have been
missing since Tuesday that departed Sebrook Island in a kayak. Stephen
Lee, 27, of Atlanta is still missing and numerous Coast Guard surface
and air assets are continuing the search for him.
A C-130 crew from Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater, Fla., spotted
Jeremy Scott and a yellow kayak five-miles east of Fripp Island. A
helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Facility Charleston rushed to the
scene to pluck Scott from the water, who was mildly hypothermic but in
good condition.
A C-130 from Air Station Clearwater, a helicopter from Air Facility
Charleston and the Coast Guard Cutter Tarpon are all involved in the
search for Lee.
*Family members reported that the men were not wearing life jackets when
they departed*. The seas are reported as four-to-six-feet and winds at

CHARLESTON, S.C. - The Coast Guard suspended its search today at
approximately 8 p.m. for the remaining missing kayaker near Seabrook
Island, S.C.
Stephen Lee, 27, is one of two kayakers that departed in one yellow
kayak from Seabrook Island and has been missing since Tuesday afternoon.
Jeremy Scott, 28, was spotted and rescued by the Coast Guard five miles
east of Fripp Island, S.C., at 11:30 a.m. today.
The Coast Guard search continuously for more than 24 hours and searched
more than 800-square-miles total near Seabrook Island. A C-130 from Air
Station Clearwater, Fla., a helicopter from Air Facility Charleston, the
Coast Guard Cutter Tarpon, from Tybee Island, Ga., a Coast Guard Station
Charleston small boat, the South Carolina Department of Natural
Resources and the Charleston County Sheriff's office all participated in
the search.
Family members reported that the men were not wearing life jackets when
