Nice piece.  But for some things unavoidable.

One thing we all need to get on the same page to MINIMIZE any oppressive
restrictions on access and regulations.  The regulations and enforcement
need to go on the motorized vessels.  One quik thing to support and endoress
are expanded NO WAKE ZONES, for example on the Harlem River.  And night time
must always be possible and wonderful.  Also to point out, like this past
weekend with the boat flipping in the East River, the same weekend we
paddled out with 7 canoes and kayaks from the south bronx, it is motorized
vessels that are far more dangerous and accident prone.
