Here is a brief update on the race.

PROFILES: we
are fortunate to have a brilliant field of accomplished racers for 2007
Greg
Barton ~ 4 time Olympic
medalist (2-x Gold), around Manhattan record holder 3hours 21minutes, 2x US
Surf Ski Champs, 2x World 10,000 meter Champion and too many others to mention.
Herman
Chalupsky ~ 2 x Molokai winner. Over the last 20 years he's been one of
the top three surf ski paddlers in the world.
Dorian
Wolter ~ Former German
National Wild Water Champion and the previous record hold for the kayak and OC1
will be there to recapture the record
Eric
Borgnes ~The 2006 winner of
the Blackburn, he's finish sixth at the 2004 US Surf Ski Champs and just won the
Chicago Shore Marathon on Lake Michigan.
Ian
Gray -- very strong South
African paddler (former rugby player) from Durgan. 11th at the US Ski Champs
last week.
Zsolt
Szadovszki ~ former member of the
Hungarian National Sprint team. He finished 7th at Molokai this year.
Rene
Appels ~ Former professional
wind surfer and now the National W.S. Coach of Hong Kong, Rene finished 16th at
Molokai this year.
Eric
McNett ~ OC1 -- one of the
top master's marathon canoeist in New
England.
Ed
Duggan ~ a former
professional adventure racer who runs a kayak school out of Beverly, MA. He's completed the Blackburn a million times. TOugh strong solid NE
racer.
Mike
Tracy ~ a friend of Ed's.
Very solid 2nd tier paddler. Top 3-5 at Blackburn every year.
Dana
Henry & Blake Conant ~ OC2 --
Dana is one of the best marathon canoers in New
England and a former top flight slalom canoist. Blake a legend in
outrigger paddling.
Ciro
DeLaVega ~ He is solid New
England paddler and 1st place 2007 Blackburn – Fast Touring division
Former record holder
Glen Green from the first 1983 race will be there to discuss the history of the
“Round Manhattan Races”
