Irony is that the colloquial named Harlem River is a man made shipping
canal. The original water flow was the Spuyten Duyvil creek that flowed up
to 230 street and back out at Spuyten Duyvil.
The area of marble hill is politically a part of Manhattan; it was separated
when the shipping canal, now known as the Harlem River was built.

That's the punchline to this story. The developer was serious. Honest.
