Elaine,

I don't know what your kayaking experience is but my only caution is that you don't buy a boat, used or new, unless you have tried paddling in it and know that it is a good fit for you. That might require trying out many boats and talking with a lot of kayakers.
I have been kayaking for many years and am on my third upgrade but I bought my first boat without much research and outgrew it before the season was over. An expensive lesson.
Good luck.

can anyone point me to a good source for used sea kayaks? i'd appreciate any
information.? thanks!

Elaine,

Used kayaks can be a good bargain, especially at this time of year. Here
are a few tips for finding them:

- Check with kayak shops to see if they are selling off parts of their
rental fleet in the Fall.
- Many boats are showing up on Craig's List. Check multiple lists for
your region, if they exist.
- Kayak clubs that have websites often have a classified ad section -
try ConnYak, RISKA, Northshore Paddlers, etc.

Good luck with your search!
