NYCkayaker 5 Boro: Now we need four motor boats

August 2007,  Jerry Blackstone reached an unemotional and  reasonable 
compromise with a Coast Guard request to have 52 paddlers on a  circumnavigation 
accompanied by one safety boat.  If inexperienced paddlers  are not participating 
in the ramble which makes good sense to begin  with, couldn't we  use the 
proportion of safety boats to paddlers in  the ratio of one to fifty two as a 
reasonable precedent already accepted by  the Coast Guard.
