---------------------------

We have a wonderful opportunity to enjoy a last paddle and camping trip before winter sets in. Deb and Roddy have arranged for the club to be able to camp the night of Saturday, September 22nd at Constitution Island.

Details are below. Although none of us plans to end up in the water, we must be prepared for that eventuality. Please check the weather, if needed, plan to be dressed for cold weather paddling (drysuit or wetsuit). If you are planning to do the evening paddle, you will need a deck light for your kayak.

Please email Jill (jak at softwarefitness.com) if you are planning to attend so we can make sure we have an appropriate amount of the main course, and so we can coordinate sides and snacks.

Below is the itinerary and guidelines for the September 22nd Campout on Constitution Island. A week before the event an email will circulate asking what food items you can bring to share. While we paddle and sleep, we’ll need to keep the local animals out of our perishables, therefore, we’ll need one or two volunteers to each bring a cooler without ice to store the bread, snacks, etc.

Tom Galvin will be manning the gate to direct participants onto the island. Jill Kolodin will be manning the pavilion to direct participants where to drop off camping gear, food, and where to park. Arriving vehicles can stop on the road (next to the pavilion) to drop off gear, then continue straight down the road and park in the parade field.
