Mike,

I think this is a very reasonable request.  This list has a specific 
purpose, and you should not hijack it as your personal blog.  Kayaker's 
interactions with the USCG  are indeed relevant, and useful experience 
should be shared.  Your derogatory personal opinions of the manner in 
which people who, unlike yourself, actually organize and carry out 
publicly accessible activities, handle those interactions, are not 
usually, either useful or relevant.
