Sounds like a great idea Bill, and I'd like to attend.
I'd like to make a slight semantical clarification though. You distinguish between
Captains and Paddlers.
Note that when I am in my kayak, I am not only a paddler, I am the Captain of that
vessel--otherwise known as it's Master, Commander, or Master-and-Commander for the
more traditionally minded.
If have both of my boats out with someone else in the other one, I am generally the
Fleet Commander, unless I appoint that task to the other person, or we are part of a
larger group with someone else in Command.
I'm not sure how other paddlers look at it, but if they are not in Command of their
vessel, who is?
