I thought it was good info bonnie.
As with bicyclist in NYC, no one club or group speaks for everybody. 
This line sounded a bit exclusive and controlling, maybe it was just an
error in editing, rsvp yes for logistical purposes, but to host a meeting
that pertains to all local paddlers , and then  decide the newly formed
guild is the only one to do the inviting, is not kosher. 
Looking forward to the report on this meeting
