NYCkayaker anyone have ocean paddling experience with inflatable kayaks?

Hi All- I'm heading down to the Bahamas next month for a few days of kayaking/camping with a friend [also a NOLS grad] & we're having a hard time finding kayak rentals near where we want to go - the Exuma Cays Land & Sea Park. So we've begun thinking about buying a couple of inflatables - the Stearns Cordova or the Advanced Elements Expedition - since the cost of buying these & transporting them from Nassau to the Park would be less than renting & transporting kayaks from George Town [which has the closest rentals to the Park]. Has anyone here actually used an inflatable in the open ocean?  The Exumas are supposed to be pretty chill, although in January the winds can get fairly strong, which of course seems like a big red flag for using inflatables.  Still, I'm wondering if they might perform better than I'm assuming... Anyway, any advice/suggestions would be great  - including hearing from anyone who has paddled down there before with any tips or recommendations. thanks & happy trails!Ed Forgotsondoggedny at hotmail.com
