NYCkayaker Yonkers?

I will let the yprc board come up with their official statement , I have
been involved with the club from the transformation, so I have a very good
knowledge of what happened back then and a strong independent interest in
the clubhouse remaining in downtown yonkers. I also am a bicyclist and am
concerned about the negative impacts on the bicycle travel on the main
arterial road. The amount of waterfront utilized for private car parking and
driveways concerns me. The construction of a full service marina with winter
boat storage takes up quite a footprint of public space for private use.
Yonkers has already started a process that has privatized the waterfront, it
need to be reversed.
I will come up with something this weekend that covers the problems I see
with the degas. I am independent but a member of the yprc/YCC. I have read
the degas I live next to the affected neighborhood and I know the NYC kayak
world knows more about the degas than my neighbors, who will be heavily
affected. I need to start getting the word out to them
Reality with this real estate crunch, this is a hard time to get the
builders to decrease the height of the project. The area is severely
blighted and needs revitalization; I don't think Brooklyn needs Atlantic
yards either.
