The Urban Diver Estuary Conservancy-
HARLEM RIVER ECOLOGY CENTER and HUDSON RIVER NORTH MARINE FIELD STATION*
..an urban nature center for environmental education, community stewardship,
culture and maritime.
Located at the southern end of Roberto Clemente State Park,NYC Bridge Park
and River Park Towers.
Just north of the Historic High Bridge, now in restoration. Entrance of the
center faces the water beneath bld10.

Join us for a festive Saturday celebration of the Harlem River. Come and
take in the scenic, and serene beauty of the upper Harlem River and explore
it marvelous wonders at
one of the biggest family eco and cultural fairs on the Harlem River. Live
Cultural Performances with BOMBAY YO, ANGEL DADIDSON DRUMMERS, MAMADOU
DAHOUE AFRICAN DRUMS and DANCE,
Various Environmental Education thru Recreation Activities featuring GoFish,
Live! Beneatn The Harlem River ( Under Water Video Exploration), Aquatic
Ecology lab, Eco-cruise on the Harlem River,
Under Da Big TiPi with exhibit, Games with Prizes, Carnival Ride, Petting
Zoo, Hay Ride, Open Center and more.
This spectacular event is in collaboration with River Park Towers Tenant
Association, RY Management,
with additional support from the Office of Councilwoman Helen Diane Foster,
Offfice of Assemblywoman Aurelia Greene, Hudson River Foundation, NY Taxi,
NY Aquarium, The Circle Line, along with the generous support of members and
volunteers like you.
CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS- Assist with Set-up and Festival activity stations-
Set-up begins on Thurs July 10th. Station Volunteers
in fun renaissance costumes.

BRIDGE RESTORATION CELEBRATION

" The High Bridge Aquaduct is currently UNDER RESTORATION and SOON this
magnificent "pedestrian only" bridge will BE OPEN THE PUBLIC and reconnect
families from
both of sides of the Harlem River.
The High Bridge is part of the Old Croton Aqueduct, the brick water a
conduit that brought New York City
its earliest supply of clean water. The bridge is listed on the National
Register of Historic
Places and is a New York City and HARLEM RIVER landmark. As part of the Old
Croton Aqueduct,
considered one of America's greatest 19th century engineering achievements,
it shares the Aqueduct's designation as a National Historic Landmark.

for a special GUIDED ECO-CRUISE and EXHIBIT with GUEST PRESENTERS, along
with a host of outdoor environmental education through recreation
activities- Oyster gardening, GoFish and Biodiversity Monitoring, and Harlem
River Water Quality Sampling.
Learn about HARLEM RIVER's spectacular Architectural and Engineering Wonder
and to celebrate
its coming FUTURE on the Harlem River. Eco-cruise will be held aboard our
unique 32ft indian shipping canoe that accommodates 21 paddlers at time.
Exhibits will be held at the center's Art and Environment Gallery and Micro
Maritime Museum.

Take the Bx40, Bx42 westbound to the River Park Towers and Roberto Clemente
State Park
Take Bx1, Bx2 Cross Grandcourse Transfer for Bx 40, Bx 42 westbound To RPT
and RSCP
Take the Bx 3 and transfer at University and 174th for Bx 40, Bx 42
westbound to RPT and RSCP
Take the Bx 18th To Roberto Clemente State Park and River Park Towers at
Cedar and Sedgwick.
TRAIN:
Take # 4 to Burnside Ave- Transfer for Bx40, Bx 42 at Burnside , next to
CHASE bank. Take bus westbound to RCSP and RPT.
Take # D to Tremont Ave- Walk one block north along Grand Concourse to
Burnside Ave. Transfer to Bx40, Bx 42 westbound tp RCSP and RPT
Enter park at West Tremont and Cedar or at Cedar and Sedgwick. Walk down
steps or ramp to the water's edge. Make a left along the water and walk
south
toward tall building RPT and High Bridge. The entrance of the center faces
the water beneath bld 10.
METRO NORTH: Hudson River Line to Morris Hts- Stops right at the State Park
and Center's Complex. Purchase the discounted "weekend city ticket".
