NYCkayaker Kayakers Overturned at Waterfall

Ahoy'all,

Radio and TV reports mention a pair of kayakers overturned at the Brooklyn Bridge waterfall. They were part of a Long Island City Community Boathouse fundraising paddle. Their colleague reports that both are fine and more relieved that they were able to get their cell phones back from a fellow paddler.

Two paddles lost, no injuries despite reports that they were taken to a hospital. Routine procedure, I suppose.

The two were horsing around before the accident and failed to follow commands that would have gotten them back on their way in minutes. More details later -- I'm typing on a mobile now.
