Finally, a full moon weekend that hints at few, if any, clouds............

Friday AND Saturday nights we can paddle with the full moon!

Leaving from Foundry Dock Park (Cold Spring, next to the Metro North station
and free parking lot) at 8:30 PM (close to sunset)...paddlin' north...as far
as you want>>>this is not an organized event<<<some may stay near Little
Stony Point Park...others may paddle to Bannerman's (it's a great view in
moon-glow). Whenever you get there, just paddle north...you'll see the white stern
lights of other paddlers.

Moonrise will be about 9 PM on Friday (officially the Full Moon).

Moonrise will be about 9:20 on Saturday (98% full...waning gibbous).

The dancing (sometimes prancing) and always entertaining Hudson River
laughing-warblers will be cavorting across the water between Storm King Mountain
and Breakneck Ridge. What a show they put on! Maybe you'll be lucky and see one
or two. When you rest your paddle across your coaming, close your eyes and
put both hands gently on the top of the water, you'll feel the vibrations of
them running across the top of the water.

A 360 degree white light is needed for your stern (available at Hudson
Valley Outfitters in Cold Spring and other retailers). Headlamps are not
used...they blind your fellow paddlers...and are not visible 360 degrees...

Caution: It will be dark. If you have not paddled very much on the Hudson
River, this outing is not for you. Your safety is solely up to you ('cause we
can't see you and there is no organizer).

See you Friday for a great Double-Header!
